Matters of Judgement
Matters of Judgment is a study on Judges’ opinions on the death penalty. At its core, it is about an in-depth examination of the factors influencing judicial thinking on the death penalty. 60 former judges were interviewed as their invaluable experience provides insights into the workings of the criminal justice system. The idea that ambiguities in law lead to subjective interpretations and judgments is illustrated with refraction. The study finds a wide spectrum of opinions hidden between clear black & whites as abolitionists and retentionists.
